Singer-songwriter Sakura Fujiwara will release her new album "uku" on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, her first in about two years since her previous album "wood mood" (2024).
His previous work, "wood mood," was created with a story of getting lost in a mysterious forest in mind, and the sound of the work also reflected the emotional and physical turmoil that Fujiwara was going through at the time.
Due to problems with my ears and throat, I even felt afraid of the music I loved, and there was a time when I had to distance myself from it, but by embracing my own anxieties and confusion, I was able to relax and not think about unnecessary things, and once again face the true joy of music.
This sense of freedom is embodied in her latest work, "uku." Her unpretentiousness is expressed in the music itself.
You'll feel a sense of freshness, as if you've just come out of a long forest and arrived at a beach with an open view.
The sound production will be handled by drummer Shun Ishiwaka, as with the previous work.
While retaining the feel of "wood mood," the album is not one of powerfully stepping forward, but rather of lightening the body and floating freely up to a higher level.
Although the album was released in winter, it is filled with a passion that will warm the hearts of listeners.
The lightness she gained by letting go. She is mentally lightly dressed and dancing freely to the music, and this is what comes to life in "uku."
