An urban thriller depicting the terror of everyday life being encroached upon.
【story】
"Is your wife at home?"
A few nights after his wife's death from illness, a strange woman visits the home of Seiji Hirokawa (Joe Odagiri), a professor of literature at a private university. When he opens the door, there is no one there... Around the same time, the university president suddenly dies. A new style of presidential election, in which students also participate, is to be held. Hirokawa's colleague, Ishida (Toshio Kakei), takes the lead in maneuvering to secure a majority, while other professors such as Butsujo (Issei Ogata) become suspicious of each other, and anonymous letters begin to circulate, creating an unsettling atmosphere on campus. Hirokawa had been in a deep relationship with his wife's younger sister, Rei (Riisa Naka), a lecturer at the same university, even before his wife's death, and this guilt fuels a vague anxiety about his neighbors and the election. Soon after, a body is discovered in the neighborhood... Nanami (Yuna Kuroshima), a nurse addicted to male hosts; Ritsuko (Tsubasa Makoto), a shrewd lawyer; Hisako (Tsubaki Nekozawa), a suspicious resident. Before he knew it, Hirokawa was stepping into the dark underbelly of human desires that were far too dangerous.
