● Profile of Masayoshi Sukita
Born in Fukuoka in 1938. Photographer.
After working as an advertising photographer, he began photographing artists in the late 1960s, and from the 1970s onwards he became a freelancer, travelling both domestically and overseas to photograph musicians representing their generation, including T-REX, David Bowie and YMO. Many of his photographs were used on CD jackets and in music magazines.
Since the 1980s, he has expanded his borderless activities beyond just photography to include TV commercials and video works.
In 2012, a photo exhibition entitled "Sound & Vision" was held, providing an overview of his life, and he continues to be active at the forefront of the art world to this day.
His major works include "T.REX 1972 SUKITA", the David Bowie photo book "Ki", the Sawada Kenji photo book "The Skin of Water", and "Sukita Masayoshi Sound and Vision: Beautiful".
