A concept album based on the life of Ernest Hemingway, whose works Kazuhiko Kato and lyricist Kazumi Yasui were dearly loved.
According to him, "I was interested in what would happen if I translated Hemingway's ideas into music, and in the methods of creating a different world, so I created it."
The album was recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, a place where the artist is closely associated, and Criteria Studios in Miami. Recording members include Rei Ohara and Yukihiro Takahashi from Sadistic Mika Band, Ryuichi Sakamoto who also participated in the previous album "Gardenia," and Kenji Omura, who was a tour support member for YMO, the band Takahashi and Sakamoto belong to. His signature songs "Around the World" and "Georgetown" were hit singles.
At the time, in 1979, the album featured a lineup of leading artists and MUSICIANS, and its cutting-edge sound approach, incorporating reggae and calypso rhythms, and conceptual worldview, have earned it high praise as a timeless work.
