The documentary film "Tonovan: Musician Kazuhiko Kato and His Era," planned based on Takahashi Yukihiro's feelings for Kazuhiko Kato, will be released nationwide in May 2024.
In addition to the inside story of the formation of The Folk Crusaders, the band that produced Japan's first million-selling hit, and rare footage of Sadistic Mika Band's overseas performances and recording sessions, the DVD also features hidden anecdotes from the "Europe Trilogy," a milestone in Japanese pop music.
In the newly recorded timeless classic "That Wonderful Love Once More," the song is woven together by a diverse MUSICIANS, including Kitayama Osamu, Takano Hiroshi, Sakazaki Konosuke, Takada Ren, and Sakamoto Miu, and the image of the song continuing to evolve is projected onto the screen.
The album includes songs by The Folk Crusaders and Sadistic Mika Band, which appear in the film, as well as solo works, and a number of songs that Kato has been involved in as a producer. It goes beyond the framework of a film soundtrack and is a compilation of works that compile the footsteps of the extraordinary musician Kazuhiko Kato.
The bonus track includes the first recording of "That Wonderful Love Once More - 2024 Ver.", which was recorded specifically for the movie. In addition, it also includes a very rare live recording of Kazuhiko Kato's performance at Kanda Kyoritsu Auditorium in April 1973.
