The "Kudanshita Folk Festival '25," a dreamlike event held at the Nippon Budokan last autumn, is finally being released as a live album a year later!!
In order to provide support for the disasters that have been occurring one after another throughout Japan, including the "2026 Kumamoto Earthquake" that occurred on July 28th (Tuesday), the idea arose to turn this event into a charity live album.
With the enthusiastic consent of each artist, the project was completed and released on short notice.
All profits from this work will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society to support disaster-stricken areas, including Kumamoto. (Please see our website for details.)
In 2025, "Keisuke Kuwata 's Gentle Night Out" celebrated its 30th anniversary on air, and TOKYO FM celebrated its 55th anniversary.
To commemorate the double anniversary, the "Kudanshita Folk Festival '25" was held at the Nippon Budokan on October 12th last year.
Conceived by Kuwata as "The Autumn Cultural Festival," a celebration of love and respect for folk songs—a genre that anyone can easily enjoy with just a guitar, regardless of whether it's Western or Japanese—Aimyon, Kazutoshi Sakurai (Mr.Children), Mariya Takeuchi, Yuko Hara, and Kazuya Yoshii (THE YELLOW MONKEY) appeared as secret guests without any prior announcement. The surprise, excitement, and emotion enveloped not only the venue but the entire nation of Japan, and this one-night-only spectacular collaboration has become a legend in the history of Japanese music.
