【story】
Hiromi Minami (Fukuyama Masaharu), a blind FBI agent, was known as the "Last Man" because he always solved even the most difficult cases in the end. He came to Japan for a limited time with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the Japanese National Police Agency and the FBI. Assigned to accompany Minami was Shintaro Godo (Yo Oizumi), the head of the National Police Agency's Personnel Exchange Planning Office. Godo is a detective who hates evil more than anyone and will stop at nothing to apprehend criminals.
Their first encounter was disastrous. Shintaro's first assignment was to escort Minami to the welcoming ceremony where her brother, the Deputy Director General of the National Police Agency, was waiting. However, he learns that Minami has been arrested for assault on the plane. Shintaro rushes to meet Minami, only to find her at a soba noodle shop. While Shintaro is panicking, Minami displays a calm demeanor, as if she can see right through him. To top it all off, at the ceremony, she unilaterally declares that she will arrest the perpetrator of the indiscriminate series of bombings that have been causing a stir. Thus, Shintaro finds himself entangled in Minami's self-serving investigation.
The case was also being pursued by the Sakura Team, led by Sakura Madoka (Yoshida Yo) of the First Investigation Division, making Shintaro a target of criticism from the First Investigation Division as well. In addition, Minami directly criticizes the First Investigation Division's assessment, creating further friction. Amidst all this, a new explosion occurs! Minami and Shintaro head to the scene to investigate. What truth about the case will emerge there?!
This invincible, mismatched duo not only tackles difficult cases, but a bizarre and unexpected fate awaits them—a thrilling buddy drama for a new era begins now!
