In January 2018, LOUDNESS released the 27th album "RISE TO GLORY -8118-" for the first time in about 4 years with simultaneous worldwide release. Akira Takasaki (guitar) says, "Although there is a part of returning to the origin, it is an album that pushes into the future. The guitar was the most played in this century." This work is from an edgy number reminiscent of the 1980s. It has been praised by fans all over the world as a masterpiece with melodic and aggressive LOUDNESS-like songs, including songs that incorporate a modern feel.
LOUDNESS, which was formed in 1981 and signed with the American major label Atlantic in 1984, has 5th album "THUNDER IN THE EAST" (1985) and 6th album "LIGHTINGS STRIKES" (1986: "SHWDOWS OF" in Japan. With an album such as WAR ”), a large-scale world tour was realized for the first time as a heavy metal band in Japan. Having gained worldwide popularity, they succeed in creating numerous legends.
After that, after many twists and turns such as member changes and changes in musicality, they realized the reunion with the original members in 2000, and they constantly release albums and perform live activities mainly in Japan. After overcoming the tragedy of Munetaka Higuchi's death in 2008, they continued their activities with members Akira Takasaki, Minoru Niihara (vocals), Masayoshi Yamashita (bass), and Masayuki Suzuki "Anpan" (drummers) around 2014. Immediately after the album was released, Masayuki Suzuki suspended his musical activities due to a stroke, and the band welcomed Ryuichi Nishida as a support drummer for a domestic tour in March and the Czech "Masters Of Rock Festival" in July. After realizing a European tour including "Bang Your Head Festival" in Germany, the LOUDNESS-sponsored event "METAL WEEKEND" was held at ZEPP DIVERCITY TOKYO from September 21st to 24th.
DAY1 (21st) is a one-man live entitled "LOUDNESS World Tour 2018 RISE TO GLORY Triumphal Performance", DAY2 (22nd) is "ANTHEM vs LOUDNESS 90 minutes 1 serious match", DAY3 (23rd) is "LOUDNESS" × RIOT DOUBLE HEADLINER SHOW ”, DAY4 (24th) is composed of“ LOUDNESS & FRIENDS AMPAN RETURNS ”, but what is recorded in this work is the pattern of DAY1 on the first day.
About half of the live performance of the day, which opens with "Soul on Fire" recorded in "RISE TO GLORY -8118-", consists of numbers from "RISE TO GLORY -8118-". At the same time as the release of this work, in May, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release, a Japan tour centered on the songs of "HURRICANE EYES" and "JEALOUSY" will be held in 7 locations nationwide, and Australia will be the first to do so.・ The tour has been realized, and it has been decided to perform at the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival 2019 to be held in Helsinki, Finland in June.
