[Synopsis]
Detective Hama Mike's office is located on the second floor of a movie theater in Kogane-cho, Yokohama. The cases he receives are all dull.
Meanwhile, Mike hears a rumor that Lily, the mother of Mike and Akane, who had abandoned them when they were young, has returned to town. Mike goes to see her without telling Akane. Mike is outraged when Lily says she wants Akane to claim her place as their mother.
Meanwhile, a conflict has broken out in the town over the rights to the "river." The river is controlled by the "white men" who neither the police nor the yakuza can touch, and anyone who tries to infringe on it is eliminated by the white men.
And then, there were more victims. Nakayama of Isezaki Police Station, who knows who the culprit is but can't find any evidence, threatens Mike to keep an eye on Sachiko, the mother of Akane's classmate Kyoko, who is thought to have ties to the Man in White. However, when Mike discovers her connection to the Man in White, she is killed in a manner that makes it look like she drowned. Mike's life is also in danger, but after hearing from Lily that the Man in White is Mike's real father, he ignores the danger and, guided by the legendary prostitute Mary, enters the hideout where the Man in White is hiding. When Mike questions the truth, the Man in White gives vague answers.
The showdown between the two is decided by a game of Russian roulette. The Man in White falls, and the anguished screams of his subordinate, Sugimoto, echo through the hideout.
