"THE LATEST IS THE GREATEST vol. 1: Zanshin"

"[New-Recording Best Album 1990-1999] THE LATEST IS THE GREATEST vol. 1," a best-of album featuring songs from the 1990s reimagined with a new sound, which was included on the limited edition of Fukuyama Masaharu 's latest album "Choushinsei," will be released as a 4-LP set of 12-inch vinyl records on Wednesday, December 23, 2026.

This album features newly recorded studio live versions of hit songs that were representative of the 1990s.
Featuring super musicians who have performed live with Fukuyama for many years, including Akira Inoue (Key), Hideo Yamaki (Dr), Kenji Takamizu (Ba), Tsuyoshi Ima (Gt), Hirokazu Ogura (Gt), Chieko Kanehara (Vl), and Takuo Yamamoto (Sax), this MUSICIANS expresses a band sound that embodies the concept of "the latest is the best." It is a best-of selection of classic songs updated with the outstanding performances of these masters.

The title of the work, "Zanshin," is a term used in martial arts and performing arts to mean maintaining mental and physical tension and awareness even after completing a technique.
The "lingering resonance" of sound after a performance ends, the "lingering emotions" that its sound evokes. The sounds of songs born in the 90s continue to resonate in the hearts of listeners even after time has passed. And these words align with the singer-songwriter's aesthetic of creating new resonances through this re-recording.
Furthermore, the title expresses the attitude common to the super MUSICIANS who participated in this project: not relying on past glories, but always striving to be "the latest is the best," and a "steadfast pride" in their musical lives, constantly honing their skills even at this very moment.

As a bonus track exclusive to the analog version, a live recording of "Ame no Main Street" performed at the Nippon Budokan during the "WE'ER BROS. TOUR 2018" is included, as Fukuyama himself wanted to hear it on 45 RPM analog vinyl.
