[Story]
Shin'ya (Nagao Kento), who was the ace of the soccer team, was spending his days feeling depressed because he couldn't participate in important tournaments due to an injury, but one day he and Yuuka (Touma Ami) were half-forcefully nominated to be in charge of the "Class Newspaper Contest". Shin'ya's father runs a popular restaurant called "Kazama Shokudo" which also serves as a children's restaurant, and Yuuka, who often comes there, is a childhood friend, but the two of them have grown apart over time. At first there is an awkward atmosphere between them, but they gradually open up to each other and form a "free time club" just the two of them. Yuuka has no place to belong at home and is isolated in class, but the time she spends with Shin'ya becomes the only time she cherishes.
One day, Shinya is called out by a delinquent named Ishimura (Mizusawa Rintaro). Ishimura is a regular at the diner, but Shinya has never told anyone about it. However, Ishimura believes that Shinya has told on him, and just as he is about to punch him... another group of delinquents appears. The delinquents call Shinya's father, Kohei (Ken Yasuda), a "hypocrite," pour cider on Shinya's head, and mock him. Still unable to say anything back to Shinya, Ishimura awkwardly leaves the scene.
Shin'ya gradually becomes attracted to Yuuka, who heals his troubled heart.
Summer vacation. Shin'ya, who has too much free time on his hands, bumps into Ishimura. The two of them clear up their old misunderstandings and make amends, but then an incident occurs. The two witness Yuuka being beaten and thrown out by her stepfather in front of the apartment where she lives. Yuuka has been treated harshly by her stepfather. While Ishimura holds down her stepfather, Shin'ya takes Yuuka's hand and runs away as fast as he can.
"I... I want to run away. Far away."
Hearing Yuuka's heartbreaking words, Shinya decides to take her to a place she once visited with her parents. A beautiful sea, a seawall at dusk... The two continue walking through the night and arrive at the park where Shinya searched for a four-leaf clover with his late mother Minami (Mimura Rie). As if to find some hope, the two desperately search for the four-leaf clover. But morning comes and they still can't find it. Making up his mind, Shinya confesses his feelings to Yuuka and gives her something. Shinya tells her that they want to run even further away, but their separation comes suddenly.
Shin'ya hadn't made a promise to anyone since his mother died, but as Yuuka was leaving, he called out, "I promise, we'll definitely meet again."
Thirty years later, Shin'ya (DEAN FUJIOKA) runs a restaurant he inherited from his father, keeping in his heart a promise to Yuuka, whom he has not seen for 30 years. However, a sudden accident destroys the restaurant, forcing it to close. Just then, a young woman (Imo Yu) comes to see Shin'ya, who is at a loss as to what to do.
