[Synopsis]
1840, Chiaraishima Village, Musashi Province. Eiichi Shibusawa (Ryo Yoshizawa) was born into a farmer's family who were engaged in the production of indigo and sericulture. The talkative and timid boy learns from his father, Ichiroemon (Kaoru Kobayashi), and awakens to the fun of business. On the other hand, Yoshinobu Tokugawa (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi) survives alone in the midst of the turmoil of the Edo shogunate, such as the opening of the country, the succession of the shogun, and the Ansei Purge. Eiichi and Kisaku (Kengo Kora) of Chiaraijima leave the village due to the failure of the plan to expel foreigners and meet Yoshinobu in Kyoto at the invitation of Enshiro Hiraoka (Shinichi Tsutsumi). Either be captured by the shogunate and die, or become a vassal of Hitotsubashi. The encounter with Yoshinobu will change Eiichi's destiny...
