A story about monsters who quietly watch over humans
DEAN FUJIOKA 's first picture book on the theme of "family" in the broadest sense.
The illustrations are by Hikarin, a popular illustrator who has worked on the Ultra Kaiju picture book series, and this book is sure to expand the reader's imagination.
Dean's hope is that "in order to realize the importance of understanding and loving each other, it is essential to empathize with and influence others. I hope that this picture book will serve as an opportunity to develop the power of imagination that works in both directions."
*A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to the international NGO Save the Children.
◎What is FamBam?
It is an abbreviation for "Family Always Means Backing Any Member," and means "friends who support each other like family, no matter when or where."
It is also the name of DEAN FUJIOKA 's FAN CLUB.
In 2016, on FAN CLUB 's launch day, which was also Dean's birthday, instead of celebrating him, he asked people to donate any surplus non-perishable food they had at home to people who really needed it in the form of a food bank, and they received 1.5 tons of support. Based on this philosophy of mutual aid, "FamBam" has gone beyond being just a gathering of artists and fans, and has started as a community that shares the same goal, a big family.
About the Author
DEAN FUJIOKA
Born in Fukushima Prefecture, he began his modeling career in Hong Kong in 2004. He made his acting debut when he was selected to play the lead role in the film "August Story" (2005). In 2006, he moved to Taipei and appeared in dramas, films, and TV commercials. In 2009, he established his music production base in Jakarta, and began working in Japan in 2011. Since 2015, he has been based in Tokyo and has been active across Asia.
Hikarin
After graduating from Tokyo Zokei University, he worked on the development of numerous titles as a game graphic designer. In 2008, he became a freelance illustrator. Since then, he has produced numerous illustrations for children's books, including the Ultra Monster Picture Book Series and Shimajiro Picture Book.
