[STORY]
Yuji Takanashi, who teaches philosophy at a university, cannot swim. I'm afraid to put my face in the water. Yuji, who has spent most of his life avoiding water by making quibbles, unexpectedly visits a swimming class one day. At the reception of the pool I visited, it was Shizuka Usuhara, a swimming coach, who forced me to join. Yuji, who has a stiff body, mixes awkwardly among the lively housewives that Shizuka teaches.
From that day on, Shizuka, who says it's easier to live in the water than on land, and Yuji, who continues to make a fuss because of his fear of water, begins a series of ups and downs.
As he learns how to swim, Yuji comes face to face with reality that he has been ignoring, such as his past with his ex-wife Miyako and his future with his single mother's lover Namie. It was Yuji's first step toward a difficult recovery, since he was afraid of water for some decisive reason.
"What if I drown?"
"Okay, I'll help you."
A heartrending, painful, and slightly funny moving piece that shines a light on a wounded life.
