【story】
In 1925 (Taisho 14), the day radio broadcasting began in Japan, a girl was born at a Japanese sweets shop in a shopping district in Okayama city. The Name is Yasuko (Mone Kamishiraishi). Yasuko, who grew up in a warm family surrounded by the sweet scent of red bean paste, wished that she would continue to be happy with her family. As the footsteps of the war approach, various trials fall on Yasuko. However, the encounter with the Radio English Course, which will start shortly after the start of radio broadcasting, will open up the future of Yasuko.
The story of Yasuko's daughter, the second heroine Rui (Fukatsu Eri), begins in Osaka in the 1955's. The story of Rui's daughter, the third heroine Hinata (Rina Kawaei), begins in Kyoto in the 1965s.
The heroines of the three generations face the challenges of that era, and while sometimes being left behind by the world and fashion, they find their own way of life in a clumsy but different way.
And there was always a radio English course beside them.
